Triacetin, also known as glyceryl triacetate, is widely used in the production of cigarette filter rods as bonding plasticizers for cellulose acetate in filter rods.
In order to reach the target hardness value, the proportion of triacetin to the total weight of the filter rod should be approximately 6-9%. This process is carried out in a spray chamber, where triacetin is sprayed on the diacetate filament as a water-based aerosol. Different technical parameters of the spray chamber, such as brush number and brush speed, are adjusted to achieve the most consis-tent application of glycerin acetate.
We can provide high quality ISO9001 certified glycerides for tobacco and food industry applications.
